Description derekcvtc 2005-07-08 02:22:26 UTC
When giving shadows to text, only text that is black has a grey shadow. Any
other color and the shadow turns black.

MRU->HDU: we should change the shadow color to "grey" for all txt colors (and
not just for black color). Other Word processors also use this, so we should
keep compatibility.
Comment 3 hdu@apache.org 2005-07-08 13:03:42 UTC
HDU->CJ: since at least SO5 and probably even earlier the shadow color was
either COL_LIGHTGRAY or COL_BLACK, depending on the luminance of the original
text. The change request to always use COL_LIGHTGRAY has its merits though, and
the rationale behind the original design is no longer obvious this should be
decided finally. See issue 759 for some insights of the original designer.

Additional info: As mentioned in issue 759 shadow compatibility with PPT was a
concern. Since the new presentation engine is now handled in the Canvas instead
of directly in VCL doing something different for VCL is now possible. So the
decision on which shadow color to use could distinguish between the use cases
Impress/Non-Impress.
