Please consider adding a Word count for the current selection. That way the user can select some cells and get a word count (in a script that's very useful). The word count should pop-up a set of toggle features like: ignore - as delimiter ignore ' as delimiter ignore / as delimiter ignore . as delimiter (but not ". ") Cheers -- David
requirements should decide. IMHO Calc isn't a wordprocessor so something like this isn't really needed. Frank
Atually in alot of other people's (most people in the game industry actually) opinion a spreadsheet is the perfect format for creating localization scripts for the studios, voice talents, translators, game designers, script writers, programmers (who can export certain colums with strings) and so on. Word count is rather important in a businesss like that. And of course coloring and formatting of individual words and such. And so I hope you'll acknowledge it as something that might even make such people prefer Calc to Excel if Calc embraced that kind of use. Cheers -- David
This issue depends on issue 76156 (Counting the number of substrings within a string). I have attached a C++ code for that issue, unfortunately that code does NOT cover regular expressions. For the full implementation of this issue, I will first need to add that functionality to the above mentioned issue, though I fear that I do NOT really understand how the REGEXP search is implemented and there is NO good documentation for it (see my comments to that issue). When that is done, I will return to this issue. Somebody please add that this issue depends on issue 76156.
has this work been correlated with the word count fix in bug 80815?
