Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52338
Entering non-breaking hyphen fails
Last modified: 2005-11-15 12:22:04 UTC
Hi, again, this stupid issuezilla configuration forces me to enter information that I honestly do not even have the slightest idea of what would be the correct answer (how am I supposed to be able to differentiate between the subcomponents?). Please fix that and other things as requested in issue 42236. Pressing Ctrl-Shift and - I would expect to get a non-breaking hyphen. What I did get on 114 is _. I was able to enter the non-breaking hyphen when pressing the - on the numpad, though. caolan on IRC suspected this possibly being a regression for issue 39038. Regards Rolf
MRU->US: the non-breaking hyphen itself works and can be inserted (via user-configured button). But inserting with keybord Ctrl-Shift-dash does not work. Tested on Linux and SparcSolaris (Win works fine).
Admittedly on Unix Ctrl+Shift+Hyphen results in an Underscore, hence does nothing. But as Ctrl+Shift+KeyPadMinus results in the desired non-breaking hyphen it looks like the functionality isn't bound to the desired key combination. Same behaviour in all three vcl plugins (gen, gtk, kde). us->pl: would you mind to look into this though (looks similar to issue 39038)? BTW. doesn't work for me in m114 on Unix either (not sure whether this is regression).
'polishing' flags.
The problem is simple: Ctrl-Shift-'-' is the same as Ctrl-'_'. The same way that Ctrl-Shift-'a' is the same as Ctrl-'A'. I don't think this is an error. Writer has to take this fact into account.
Windows Word produces the non-breaking hyphen with said key combination. I think OOo did as well in previous versions but I'd have to check that.
OS, could you pls. handle this. Thx.
regression keyword. OOo 1.1.4 inserts the non-breaking-hyphen when <ctrl>+<shift>+"-" is pressed.
The configuration of the accelerator maps KEY_MINUS with shift=true and mod1=true. There is no KEY_UNDERSCORE definition that could be used here.
