Description jeidsath 2005-07-26 01:36:39 UTC
Highlighting a word together with either the leading or trailing space prevents
the thesaurus from finding that word when it tries to look it up.

Reassigned to SBA.
Comment 2 eric.savary 2005-07-26 09:33:41 UTC
This is not a defect because "word ", " word", "word!" or "/word" etc... are
strictly said non existing words.
But the Thesaurus could be a little bit more selection error tolrant and trim
blanks, punctuation marks and so on (but not hyphens of composite words!)
Comment 3 lohmaier 2005-07-26 20:48:32 UTC
reassigning to lingucomponent.
Comment 4 lohmaier 2005-07-26 21:53:35 UTC
OS to all, lowered prio since punctuation is not included when just placing the
cursor into the word that should be checked or when selecting the word using
double-click.
Comment 5 jeidsath 2005-07-27 23:56:20 UTC
This is a defect issue and not an enhancement issue. A user can't see that he
has invoked a word together with a space when he opens up the thesaurus. All he
sees is a list containing no matches. It makes it look like there are no
matches to his word in the thesaurus. And even if es argues that " word" and
"word " are not actual words, there aren't many users who are going to think
that. They will just assume that the thesaurus works some of the time and
doesn't work the rest of the time.
