Description mikadams 2002-05-25 13:51:42 UTC
In Microsoft Word 97 I, and several colleages, make frequent use of the command 'Print current
page' which I have set to a toolbar icon. It is a great time saver over going into the print menu when
wishing to print a single page of a large document. I have replaced Word with OOo 1.0 both at home
and at work. I cannot find this command in OOo 1.0 and suggest it as a possible feature

Hi Michael,
I'm refreshing your issue.

Remember that feature is to add a new functionality that does not yet exist.
As you've said, you can to this, the OOo already handly it. So, it's is an

OBS: it may work also to the spreadsheet.

Another one:
as you choose the "code" component, does it means you have developer skills -I
think. The "UI" is for users without developer skills.

Do you can send an patch to help BH (the owner)?

Adding a comment from the duplicate:
"It would be really useful to have a "print current page" command which can be
assigned to a toolbar button, rather than having to select File, Print, and
then select Pages... ". by Lazaroid.

For all the program, not only Writer, may be assigned a buton called "Prin
current page", that stands at the side of the defaul "Print all pages".

From issue 59420 :

"I have to admit it wasn't obvious to me that I could mimic the effect of the
"Print Current Page" option in MS Word with the "Print Range" option in Writer,
which defaults to the current page :-P. A poster gave me the heads-up about this
in the forums. Maybe if I had been using Writer more often I would have caught
onto that.

And that is why I am submitting this as an issue: it is not obvious enough for
me. There should be an in-your-face, although admittedly redundant, "Print
Current Page" radio button selection in the Print dialog as well."

The main thing for me would be to be able to assign a toolbar button which
prints the current page directly without having to go through the Print
dialog. It is possible to do this for the whole document but not for a single
page. This is a really nice feature when you're editing a large document: you
can make changes on a page and print it out as you go with much less hassle
than File->Print->Pages->OK.

Maybe it's relatively easy to do this with a macro but that seems like
overkill to me!

To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on
my owner to the owner "requirements".
