Description kabban 2005-08-11 14:55:04 UTC
I'm trying to rescue my drawings from odgs with undeleteable bitmaps (some of
them are still resisting to be deleted) inside thru copying parts of them to new
odg files. But formatting of text und objects or groups of them are badly pasted
to the new odg.

Pasting works without problems here. Can you attach a screenshot with the
errors? Thanks.

confidential? Thanks.

When opening your copypaste.odg it looks already as in your wrong png. Thats
why I did not see a problem... Can you attach the original file, too? So I can
reproduce the bad copy'n'paste behaviour? Thanks again.

more infos:

I'm using oo 123 win 32 from Pavel Janiks site.

Copy/Paste. It doesn't matter if you copy the objects via grouping, combination
or simple selecting with the mouse. The error is the same.

Thanks for the bugdoc. Reproducible. The spacing to the borders is changed. That
is what changes the position.
Comment 11 wolframgarten 2005-08-16 11:16:53 UTC
Reassigned.

Hello,

are there any changes in the status of this bug? It would be very nice to
copy/paste to an new odg.

Thank You,
kabban

Ok, here is a dilemma. In the attached document the border settings in the
default style are changed to 0.
If you create a new document the default style contains border settings
different to 0. That is way it looks different.

Now to fix this 'issue' I would have to copy the objects with all styles hard
formated. If I do so I get new issues by users who use styles.

A solution would be to do the settings made to the styles also in the target
document. I think we miss the feature to copy styles between presentations.

But as I see it, this issue is not a bug

One additional comment, on first view this behaviour might see as a bug to the user.
But in this case the user worked with styles, as he had changed the default
style. So if the user wants to work with styles it would be an error to overide
the styles while doing copy and paste. One of the main features of styles is
that the pastet contents adapt to the 'style' of the target document.

I'm sorry,

but I don't understand what your meaning with styles. I've created a new odg,
with same size and zero borders like the original file . Then I copied my
selection. and there is the error again.

This is no error. For the handling of styles please have a look at the help.
