Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 53332
Bidi text misarranged in Registration window
Last modified: 2017-05-20 10:44:12 UTC
In my Hebrew Windows build, mixed Hebrew/English text does not display properly in the first-run screen. Note the attached screenshot. The English text "OpenOffice.org" in the windows header is to the right of the Hebrew text, instead of on the left where it belongs. Similarly, the same phrase in the first two lines of the left pane is on the right edge, instead of on the left where it belongs. This only happens in the Windows build. In my Linux build, the mixed text is displayed properly.
Created attachment 28779 [details] Hebrew first-run "Would you like to register" screen , with misarranged text
Correction: The snapshot is not the screen asking about registration, but the "Welcome" screen that appears before it.
FT->HDU: Can you please look into this issue to find out *why+ we are mixing text directions here? Thx.
.
We've worked around this with Formatting characters. Is this handled by the Windows installer program, or by code within OOo?
The screenshot looks like an OOo native dialog.
I recommend to close this bug, since I haven't seen SW Registration screens since OO 3.4.
