Description naoyuki 2005-09-06 10:06:41 UTC
File type drop down list in FileOpen dialog does not show Calc section (start
from "OpenDocument spreadsheet" to "Web Page Query") with Japanese Linux/Solairs
version. English versions and Japanese Windows version show these Calc entries
correctly.
Comment 1 thorsten.martens 2005-09-19 15:02:44 UTC
TM->AS: Reproducible on Solaris (japanese) with m130 build of starsuite. When
changing OS-language to korean or english, everything is fine. In japanese the
whole spreadsheet-section is missing (no fallback to english).
Comment 2 khirano 2005-09-29 08:20:08 UTC
No fallback to English?
What do you mean?
What should be done to fix this?
Can ja community help creating a patch?
We would like to ask you to change the target milestone:
OOo 2.0.1 --> OOo 2.0
Comment 3 maho.nakata 2005-09-30 15:20:17 UTC
I just asked MH about it and he told me if
this fix is not deep one, we can integrate into 2.0.
so patch is welcomed.

hmm, changing the target 2.0, so we see this issue. If the patch is *huge* or
affects many things, please change the target back to 2.0.1.

For me the problem exists inside the UI.xcu file of OOo. And further it seams to be
a problem of the localized version of this file.
a) All Calc filters exists and are useable. You can open calc documents without
problems.
b) All calc filters will be shown within the FileSave dialog and you can define a
default filter inside "Tools-Options-Load/Save General".

The difference between FileOpen and FileSave dialog is the mentioned UI.xcu file.
There is a special feature of the FileOpen dialog. Against the filters we show filter-
groups e.g. "StarCalc 3.0 - 5.0". And these groups are defined inside the UI.xcu
file. Further the code is written in the way, that an exception will be catched and
ignored ! Fallback handling cant be done then, because the fallback handling has to
be done at the place where the exception was thrown ... As a result of that the
complete calc section disappears.
Comment 6 andreas.schluens 2005-10-04 12:59:35 UTC
I've found the problem:
The filter "Microsoft Word 2003 XML" was translated (which btw. isnt relay
necessary!) with "Microsoft Excel 2003 XML" .-) And this wrong translation
exists for JA only. This conflicts with the feature of the FileOpen Dialog: "no
entry can exists twice". So an exception is thrown if the real "Microsoft Excel
2003 XML" will be tried to be added inside this dialog.

BTW: The same problem occures on windows ... but there you have another dialog
implementation. And this implementation doesnt drop all calc filters. This
implementation drops only the last 3 filters. So you will get 18 of 21 possible
calc filters listed.

AS->IVO: Please correct the filter translation for the file "filter/source/
config/fragments/filters/Microsoft_Word_2003_XML_ui.xcu" only for the locale JA
from "Microsoft Excel 2003 XML" to "Microsoft Word 2003 XML". THX.
