In OOo1.9.125 & OOo1.9.128 I am not able to attach an List or Numbering style to
a paragraph style. It appears to be attached but no numbering or bullets appear.

Steps:
In the Stylist modify the Default paragraph style. 
On the Numbering tab attach the Numbering 1 style.
Click OK and no numbering will appear in the document.

confirmed in windows 2000. changing OS to "all". 
Editing the default style to included a numbering style does not work, whether 
you do it from the stylist or from a right-click menu. Applying the numbering 
style directly works as expected.
The same is true of list styles.
This is a bad regression.
