Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 54617
Impress - numbered list imported from PowerPoint loses Start At information
Last modified: 2008-10-17 12:18:49 UTC
I'm using Impress in OpenOffice.org 2.0 Beta 2 - Build 1.9.125 - on Windows XP Home Edition. I am importing a PowerPoint presentation (either 2000 or 2003) that has a slide with a numbered list starting with a number different from "1" (e.g, starts at "5"). When I open it in Impress, the numbered list (wrongly) starts at "1". I am attaching a Powerpoint file (Numbered_list_example.ppt) which has only one slide that shows this problem (try to open it in PowerPoint and then open it in Impress, to see what I mean).
Created attachment 29563 [details] Numbered List PowerPoint Slide
Reassigned.
Set to new and change the target.
I know that the handling of numberings and bullets in Impress are different to the handling in PPT. But Impress has a 'setting' where you can set the start number of the numbering. You find the setting here: 'Format / Bullets and Numberings / Customize' choose a numbering e.g. 1, 2, 3, ... 'Start at' Therefore we should import the changed start number of the numbering

Just wondering what the status of this is? It has created an issue with my implementation of Impress as a replacement for PowerPoint! So now Impress has been rejected, at least for now. :( Any news on when this will be fixed will help.
