Description whnzooo 2005-09-17 03:28:44 UTC
Howdy,

When a Word 2000/XP Doc file with highlighting is imported into OOo Writer
1.1.4, 1.1.5 and 2.0 Beta 2 the highlighting is lost running on both SuSE Linux
9.3 and Windows 2K. If the file is read in and written out by Word 97 then the
highlighting is visible in OOo.

This was originally reported in Issue 26349 but was mistakenly closed as a
duplicate. Please see the file below as an example.

  http://devidal.tv/~chris/highlighting_test.doc

Again, this is NOT a duplicate of issue 24317 which goes in the opposite
direction.

Thank you for all the great work,
    Bill

I also see the lost highlighting for the last letters of the word with '2.0
(1.9.m125) German version WIN XP: [680m125(Build8947)]', but I believe it's
something with the document:

Highlighting created in my own test documents with WORD2000 works fine if I open
with OOo.

When I tried to remove highlighting in WORD2000, that did not work for 'Test',
and 'ing' changed to a black bar (pla see attached screenshot
"screenshotfromword2000.png"!

Reporter, pls. specify what WORD2000 formatting is used for every character in
your test document.

No, this is a duplicate to issue 23559.
Word has two different way's defining such Highlighting. One is via
"Format.Borders and Shading" and one via the Toolar Button "Highlight".
