Description gcecchini 2002-06-03 18:33:05 UTC
When saving in RTF, MS Word format, the header and footer of second page and
following pages become the same header and footer as the first page, even if in
the original document in OOo format they are different.

Hi,
I am having the same problems. I am trying to create a 2 page word
doc with different headers and footers on each page using OO. In OO
it is fine but as soon as I have saved in Word format the headers and
footers are messed up. We need this to work correctly as we hope to
produce Data Sheets in this way.
Thanks,
Cheryl Belch

I have changed this issue to P1 as I need to know whether headers and
footers are going to work correctly in the near future as this is one
of the draw backs of changing to OO from MS Office.

Thank you
Cheryl Belch

Any comments on this issue please? Unfortunately, if headers and
footers cannot be used I am stuck and will have to stay with MS
Office!

Cheryl Belch

cmc->mru: with export to word headers and footers are working
correctly in SRX643t when I check this.

I have completed further tests as follows.

I create a 2 page document in OO 1.0.1. The first page has a header
and a footer. The second has a different footer from the first but
no header at all. I save the document as Word 97/2000/XP and close
it. When I reopen the document the second page now has the header of
the first. All messed up! I also notice the names of the page
styles have to changed to convert1 and convert2!

I am attaching Test.sxw as an example! Try saving as Word and then
reopen it!

Thank you,
Cheryl Belch

Yes, we know this issue. This will be fixed with the next OpenOffice
643 build. At the moment I can't tell you when the release date will be.

Thank You for letting us know!

As Cheryl, I am also eager to get this issue resolved because in my
company we are definitely willing to switch 95% of the office software
from MSO to OOo, and this problem was stopping us.

Bye for now
Giovanni

That's great .... I will look out for the next release! This was my
biggest hurdle, hopefully we can soon move to OO!

Thank you,
Cheryl ;o)
