Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 55452
search/replace does not reposition
Last modified: 2006-09-13 16:48:46 UTC
after completion of (multiple) search/replace, the screen and the cursor should be repositioned at the place where the search started
Reassigned to SBA.
Also seen this on my machine (windows XP sp2). Doing a search/replace of a word works, but at the end OOo Writer asks: "OpenOffice.org Writer has searched to the end of the document. Do you want to continue at the beginning?" When clicking YES it says "Search Key not found". Writer does go to the beginning IF the cursor is placed after the first word that you want to replace. That first word is not changed. A.Y.K. Jong
I strongly disagree. When I use search, I usually want to jump to that position to continue writing, to modify the text. So unless you do a "Find/Replace All" the cursor /must/ be positioned to the last found match (and not to where one started the search from).
SBA: But I do agree. BOOO! ;-) This is indeed something that can be discussed. See reopened i8288 (good old code => good old problem => woks as designed => Type = Enhancement, but duplicate) See that one for further details, arguments and easy ways to find the last occurrence IF the view area WOULD not change :-) *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 8288 ***
SBA: Closed.
