When I attempt to copy text in Writer by pressing CTRL+C or by selecting
edit-->copy, I'm not able to paste what I copied into any other program. If I
copy in Writer then paste what I copied into writer, I can then paste the text
into another program.

I believe this is due to delays in the copying process. If I wait 10 second
after pressing CTRL+C, I am then able to past into other applications.

Can't reproduce that problem with 2.0 (1.9.m125) German version WIN XP:
[680m125(Build8947)]

This problem definitively only happens in WRITER, not if you try to copy from
other OOo modues?

This problem also occurs for me in Calc, and Impress. I didn't install the other
OOo Modules.

Which external application are you pasting to?
Do you have programs (AntiVirus, system tools, clipboard enhancer) running in
the background?

I try pasting into various programs: Dreamweaver MX 2004, Flash MX 2004, Word. I
have AVG running in the background. I don't have a clipboard enhancer running,
and don't believe I have any system tools running.

I opened up the clipboard to see if the delay was between OpenOffice and the
Clipboard, but when I press CTRL+C is immediatly adds what I copied to the
clipboard. But there is still a delay when I try to paste into another program.

If it shows up in the clipboard immediately, this seems not to be an OOo-issue
rather than an OS-issue.
What happens if you copy text from other applications and past them? (Maybe
MSWrite -> Dreamweaver)
And what is the MIME Type of the text in the clipboard?
