Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56172
editing slides and notes on the same tab
Last modified: 2016-01-19 16:33:05 UTC
MS PowerPoint allows users to edit the notes associated with a slide just by entering the text in a edit-form right under the slide. It would be really helpful - at least for me - to add this feature to OOo Impress, but probably this collides with a UI specification for OOo Impress ?
Reassigned.
The ability to view and edit slide/outline and note content at the same is essential. (Even viewing them together is a problem now, since when developing a presentation you often have outline content that exceeds the slide limits, and the Notes view will cut off the content.) Impress is unusable to me without this. Please escalate.
> The ability to view and edit slide/outline and note content at the same is essential. +1 from Korean community!

this bug already celebrated its 10th aniversery! and no progress at all? well there was some progress - but in the other direction, now it is even worse! The only way to enter notes is to go to "view - notes" but there you have no preview of the slide itself - you have to have the slides in the left pane. so let's put an editable Notes-Area just below the slide editing screen! come on, it's 2016!

I have cleared the obsolete Assigned To entry. I've also raised the Severity, since this is clearly an usability issue. Although not essential, please update the "Latest Confirmation in" version identifier. Now, none of this housekeeping means that there is a capable and interested developer for taking on provision of this feature, as worthy as it is. We will have to see.
