Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56565
Votes are lost when issue is closed as duplicate
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:29:34 UTC
Important outstanding issues tend to get reported multiple times. When the duplication is found, one of the reports gets closed as a duplicate. The problem is that the votes for the closed report do not seem to get transferred to the open report, resulting in possible underappreciation of the importance of an issue to the community. The workaround is to find everyone who voted on a report and get them to switch their votes. An example is issue 4849, with 32 votes, which was closed as a duplicate of issue 20496, with 13 votes.
Hello dridgway, This is true. I also see the need for votes to be transferred to the "mother" issue. I checked the Issue database and it seems that there has been a discussion about this earlier (issue 22519). I am therefor setting this issue as a duplicate of Issue 22519. Regards, A.Y.K. Jong *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 22519 ***
*** Issue 56563 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. ***
The Issue you raised has been marked as 'Resolved' and not updated within the last 1 year+. I am therefore setting this issue to 'Verified' as the first step towards Closing it. If you feel this is incorrect, please re-open the issue and add any comments. As per previous posting: Verified -> Closed. A Closed Issue is a Happy Issue (TM). Regards, Andrew
