Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5691
show tip help on chart elements also when not in edit mode
Last modified: 2013-09-25 20:41:52 UTC
When in excel a pie chart is plotted for some given data, the pie chart is divided into different segments as per data supplied. In case the number of different components appearing in Pie Chart exceed say 15 or 20, it becomes difficult to match colors given in Legend and corresponding figure part in Pie Chart. For this reason it would be quite useful if a tooltip text kind of data is displayed corresponding to the portion on which mouse is placed, so that by placing mouse position on a part of PIE chart, one can immediately find out what part that corresponds to. Please let me know if you find my description not sufficient enough or have any query. Thanks, -Khelender PS> I've started using OpenOffice.org just recently and find it to be quite good so far.
In my last mail, I've incorrectly used the word Excel. Sorry for the mistake, please read it as "Calc". (Text reproduced here with correction) === When in CALC a pie chart is plotted for some given data, the pie chart is divided into different segments as per data supplied. In case the number of different components appearing in Pie Chart exceed say 15 or 20, it becomes difficult to match colors given in Legend and corresponding figure part in Pie Chart. ===== Regards, -Khelender
I'll have a look. Frank
Hi Khelender, such feature is implemented, but only if the chart itself is in Edit Mode (black handles). So I forward your request to our feature guy. Hi Falko, 1 4 u Frank
