Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56982
Provide option to re-enable warnings
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:33:39 UTC
OOo 2.0 shows warnings at several places, such as save in non-default file format or printing a document with data fields. Thos warnings can be disabled by the user (do not show warning agien). But they cannot be re-enabled. This leads to confusion, if the warning triggers some action, that is not accessible in a easy way (as with the mail merge feature - see Issue 51906). So, in tools - options, user should be able to re-enable such warnings. This is similar to the "Reset Help Agent" functionality and could be placed to the same place. E.g left are of Options -OOo - General is about help, right area would provide a checkbox to enable / disable all warnings and have a button "Reset Warnings".
please have a look
What is the state of this issue? Can you set a target? I prefer 2.0.3 or 2.0.4...
Issue 64404 mentions a workaround
Remark at the fist comment in this issue: 'OOo 2.0 shows warnings at several places, such as save in non-default file format ...' That option can be reset (anyway in OOo 2.1 and 2.2 at least) via Tools|Options|Load save>General. I've never met an option that cannot be reset, other than issue 51906. (But to be honust, I didn't search for them ;-) .
And how do you reenable those warnings that disabled by user with "Do not show this dialog..." checkbox? Yes you can edit directly config files in user folder -- but IHMO this is not an user friendly way...
