New an Swriter document, insert a frame(from the menu "Insert->Frame" ) and set 
its print option to "no",then insert a Rectangle(from the toolbar "drawing") 
into the frame .
Now, whether the document is previewed or printed, the rectangle in the frame 
is shown.(The text in the frame is not printed.)
It works ok in OO1.1.2.

MRU->FME: drawing objects in frames will be printed though disabled print option
in frame properties
