Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 57707
Remove open document file format from user lists
Last modified: 2008-05-17 23:41:35 UTC
as germanophone users list has just been hit by a 10MB mail with a .ods attached, our new file types should be removed from mails .. at least at the users lists. OOo 1.x file formats are already removed, so Open document "just" need to be added to the list of filetypes that should be removed.
okay. reassigning to support for doing. Andre: Meanwhile, do you want me to remove the offending post? support: Please add the following MIME types to the ban list (see what used to be here, https:// pcn.extranet.collab.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=12343) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.formula Formula Document (.odf) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text Text document (.odt) application/vnd.sun.xml.base OpenOffice.org Base application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.graphics Graphics Document (.odg) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation Presentation Document (.odp) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet Spreadsheet Document (.ods) What has to happen is that each list, unfortunately, must have the new MIME Type added to its ban list. This is impractical to do all at once, unless you use the magic of scripts, so please add it to the list that Andre wants first. thanks louis
Accepting the issue and would update you as soon as possible. Regards Karthik-Helpdesk

updating status whiteboard. Regards, Karthik-Helpdesk
Hi Louis, Can you confirm that all the lists specified with mimeremove in the attached file below requires an update for the mentioned mime types? application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.formula Formula Document (.odf) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text Text document (.odt) application/vnd.sun.xml.base OpenOffice.org Base application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.graphics Graphics Document (.odg) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation Presentation Document (.odp) application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet Spreadsheet Document (.ods) Regards, Karthik Support Operations PS:Attachment to come up.
Created attachment 33678 [details] list details having mimeremove
at a start, yes. But where did that attached list come from? it's kind of old. Stefan: I'd like to expand the list to include *all* lists and also to make the default behaviour basically no attachments, save those that squeeze through the ban list. reassigning to stefan... Louis
Hi St/Louis Do we have any updates on this issue, awaiting your response to proceed further with this issue. Thanks, Karthik Support Operations
thanks for reminding me about this issue. current state is that all fileformats seem to come through (we found tiff, jpeg, png, bmp, vym ....) so after all, we may close this issue as works for me (or as waited long enough for a solution but giving up now)
Stefan: I'd like to proceed as suggested below: ban the mimetypes specified Another issue? * make default behaviour for all *new* lists to comply with the ban list. Right now, *new* lists allow *all* attachments through, I believe.
I don't think all projects / lists have the same requirements. There are lists which receive ODF documents on purpose (e.g. contest). As ODF documents are usually not that large I hesitate to have them removed for all lists. I'm fine with new lists using the mime-remove list. If there are specific graphics mime-types that are not stripped but should be according to the current active list then let's file separate issues. Please provide a link to the archive.
WORKSFORME wrt the list of stripped attachments. Feel free to file separate issues for defaults or non-ODF mime-types.
The Issue you raised has been marked as 'Resolved' and not updated within the last 1 year+. I am therefore setting this issue to 'Verified' as the first step towards Closing it.
