Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 58044
Spreadsheet import looses freeze/split
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:11:38 UTC
The document converter looses freeze/split when converting documents from OpenOffice.org 1.1.4 to 2.0. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open freeze.sxc and notice that it has a freeze in it. 2. Open split.sxc and notice that it has a split in it. 3. Put freeze.sxc and split.sxc into a directory. 4. Open OpenOffice.org 2.0. 5. Click the File menu. 6. Mouse over Wizards. 7. Click Document Converter... 8. Select the StarOffice radio button. 9. Check the Spreadsheets checkbox. 10. Click the Next button. 11. Click the ... button next to Import from: in the Documents section. 12. Select the directory with freeze.sxc and split.sxc in it. 13. Click the ... button next to Save to: in the Documents section. 14. Click the Next button. 15. Click the Convert button. 16. Click the Close button. 17. Open freeze.ods and notice that the freeze is missing. 18. Open split.ods and notice that the split is missing.

Confirmed - Windows XP SP2, OOo 2.0 Confirmed - Windows XP SP2, OOo-dev 2.0.139 Note: The workaround is to simply open the documents in question and save them in .ods format. But I understand the frustration with having the document converter mess up the freezes and splits. Marking as new. -Steve
Hii Ilko, seems to be yours. Frank
IH->NN: It looks like the API Call "StorAsURL" we are using in the document converter works different from the UI's save command here for these calc document. The interesting thing here is that both features (freeze and split) do not trigger the modified flag for the file. Do you have an idea what we can do in the document converter to fix this problem here?
IH: I think this is a calc problem.
