Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 58307
removing last row from a text table doesn't update formulas
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:40 UTC
assume a table that sums up the contents of three rows in a fourth row. the formula in the the fourth rows are: =sum(<A1:A3>) when I remove one of the first three lines, then the formula is not automatically updated, but a "** Expression is faulty **" is shown in that field. Note that adding a line, e.g. between the second and third, does update the formula, therefore I think is a defect rather than an enhancement or feature.
Created attachment 31715 [details] test document with table with formulas
the issue only applies when the last row is removed. When removing the second or third row, then the formulas in the first row gets updated correctly.
confirmed on Windows XP SP2 with OOo-dev 2.0.139; open attached file and delete the last row: Expression is faulty; not so when deleting the second row
MRU->OS: delete the last row of the table (in the attached document) and see that the formulas turn to "faulty expression". I think, this old problem should be solved somehow.
I also test the attached file on on Windows XP home SP2 with OOo 2.0, but get some different results compared to lars' test: --deleting the last row, then each formula in the first row becomes "** Expression is faulty **". This result is same as lars'; --deleting the second row, then each formula in the first row also becomes "** Expression is faulty **". This result is different from lars'; --I also create another table which is same as the one in the attached file, except that now formulas are in the last row. Then I delete the second row, or fourth row, in both case, each formula in the fifth row becomes "** Expression is faulty **". My tests shows that if the formula is "=sum(<A2:A4>)", then deleting the row containing A2 or A4 would make formula faulty. And deleting the row containing A3 would not make formula faulty. So, do there anybody would like to test it again?
