Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59188
OOo file dialog loses settings after Office restart
Last modified: 2006-01-04 11:37:21 UTC
Open a file dialog. Change the size. Close OOo and the quickstarter. Restart OOo. The changes of the size are lost. This is IMO a new bug in the RC4 (680m145 build 8989).
confirmed, using OOo's own file dialoges. this did not happen in 2.0.0 -> regression
This beviour is also seen in the windows file dialog. WinXP SP2

SBA: Component changed to "framework". Adjusted summary. Reassigned to TM.
JA->AS: Is this issue is a duplicate to issue 58758 ? Added you to CC list.
JA: changed target milestone to 2.0.2. As far as I discussed this issue together with CD this issue isn't related to issue 58758 which already got fixed for 2.0.1. Assigning this issue to CD. JA->CD: please take care of this issue.
This target milestone isn't IMO good, because it's a regression and it's very annoying to set the file dialog after every a restart of the computer. You should set it to 2.01, because I read, that there will be a RC5.
cd: It depends, if you use the internal OOo file dialog, this bug is a duplicate to issue 58758. If you use the system file dialog, there is no persistence. This is not a regression as it doesn't work in OOo 1.1.x either. I suggest to use this issue as a wish for enhancement for the system dialogs. Otherwise we can close this issue as a duplicate to 58758!
Issue 58758 will be fixed in OOo 2.01. As you (sd) write, is this issue concerning the OOo file dialog also fixed. That's important for me, because I only use this file dialog.
cd: As this bug should not be used as a wish for enhancement, I set it to duplicate. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 58758 ***
cd: Closed.
The behaviour of the windows file dialog should also changed, because there are surely peoples, who use it. IMO you can treat as you wish: enhancement or defect.
Hi "jolatt", please file a separate issue of type enhancement wrt system file dialog issue. This would help to avoid further confusion. Thanks, Stefan *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 58758 ***
cd: Closing again.
