Description bluedwarf 2005-12-24 12:59:54 UTC
How to reproduce:
 - Launch Writer
 - select [File]-[Wizards]-[Letter]
 - click [3. Printed items] in Letter Wizard
 - select the second "Japanese" from "Use a typical format for this country:" list

Result:
My computer freezed for a while. Finally OOo quit leaving the following message,

 /home/oootest/OOo_2.0.1/program/soffice: line 233: 16502 killed
  "$sd_prog/$sd_binary" "$@"

I confirmed this problem happens with 2.0.1rc5 JA on WinXP SP2 and SRC680_m146
on Linux, 2.0.1rc5 JA on Linux and 2.0.1 EN on Linux.

Analysis:
The second "Japanese" item must be "Khmer". This is another bug See i59738 for
details.

Leaving that aside, OOo cannot open Khmer template of Letter wizard. It will be
always killed. You can also confirm this problem by other means. Please try to
open (OOoInstallDir)/share/template/wizard/letter/km/bus-elegant_l.ott with OOo.
You will find that the same phenomenon happens.

Issue 49477 seems to be related to this issue.

Hi, Pavel,

This issue is not just a duplication of 59738. What I reported on this issue is
that km/bus-elegant_l.ott may be broken, not related to the UI string.

These two issues are disparate and have to be solved independently.
Comment 4 tora3 2005-12-25 05:23:31 UTC
Why don't we move to another issue 59759 ?

Comment 5 pavel 2005-12-25 09:47:16 UTC
bluedwarf: tora is right. Two issues:

1. Khmer template is wrong. Javier Sola could probably fix this.

2. OOo freezes -> dupe to #i59758#.

I will look at it.

Comment 7 tora3 2005-12-27 13:31:39 UTC
Please remember the fact that OOo 2.0 does not have a problem with
the template file bus-elegant_l.ott while OOo 2.0.1 has this problem.

This might be considered regression in Writer. See issue 59759.

Comment 8 lists 2005-12-30 10:15:52 UTC
We have tested the /share/template/wizard/letter/km/bus-elegant_l.ott file from
2.0.1 using 2.0... and it works, and then the 2.0 equivalent file in 2.0.1, and
it fails. In theory the file has not changed between these two versions.

It does seem to be a regresion in 2.0.1

There is not much more I can do. Who can I reassign this to?

Or should we close it? I do believe that it is a duplicate of issue 59759,

but not of of issue 59738, that is quite different.

javiersola: so I propose the following:

- close this issue
- file new one to Word processor with regression keyword.

OK?
Comment 10 pavel 2006-02-13 12:08:14 UTC
re-target to 2.0.3.
Comment 11 lists 2006-02-15 07:44:17 UTC
I have tested in m156, and the issue seems to have gone away. I can open
/share/template/wizard/letter/km/bus-elegant_l.ott without any problem. I think
that this issue can be closed. It it reappeared, I will -as Pavel suggests -
open an issue for Writer.

Now it seems that the letter wizard does not work, but this is a different issue
altogether and probably unrelated. That might be related to issue 59738.
