Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 59976
Notes page placeholder text mis-aligned
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:21:02 UTC
When exporting a document from OOo Impress 2.0/2.0.1 to Microsoft PowerPoint 97/2000/XP, the placeholder text on the notes page has it's vertical alignment changed from top to middle. Attached is an empty PowerPoint document created in Office 2000, the same document saved to Impress, then the Impress document saved back to PowerPoint. The original PowerPoint document and Impress document have the same vertical positioning for the placeholder text. Only the exported PowerPoint document is different. Right-clicking on the placeholder box in PowerPoint and selecting "Format Text Box" brings up a dialog box. Clicking the "Text Box" tab and setting "Text anchor point" to "Top" will put reset the placeholder text alignment problem. My guess is that when the PowerPoint document is exported, the placeholder text alignment is set to middle left regardless of what the actual "Text anchor" value is. To access the "Text anchor" value, right-click on the text box in Impress and selecing the "Text..." option to bring up a dialog box. Click on the "Text" tab and the "Text anchor" option will appear. Setting the "Text anchor" option to other positions still resulted in the text appearing in the middle left on export to Word.
