Description pcopleid 2006-01-15 13:22:55 UTC
OOo can save tables in RTF and these documents can be read by other word
processors. However OOo cannot read there own made RTF documents perfectly.
case:
Make a table in OOo with two merged cells and then saved as RTF. Close this
document and open de RTF file. The merged cell are two cells again.
In MS Word however the file is read as it was intended with a merged cell.

So the RTF writing module is more up to date then the RTF reading module.
see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rich_Text_Format for RTF definition links to
Microsoft or http://support.microsoft.com/kb/269575/EN-US/

This problem is at least there since OOo_1.02.

confirmed on Windows XP Pro SP2 with OOo 2.0.1; open attached document in OOo 2.
0.1 and see that there are 4 distinct cells; in Word 2 cells are merged (A1:A2)
