Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 60592
more fields in Impress
Last modified: 2017-03-07 15:33:39 UTC
I would like to be able to use more fields in Impress, similar as in Writer. For instance fields like "Last modified" etc.
according to http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/workflowcharts/ RFE_issues_by_QA.sxd I reassign this issue to requirements and set the status to New
Hi, I have added votes to this issue Reason / Use case : I extensively use Impress to draw all kind of scenarii diagrams (mainly for Business Continuity Plans), and the availability of user fields like the TextMasterFields in Writer could greatly improve and automate this kind of work, as a lot of data (f.e. teams' names, providers, emergency numbers, company name ...) found in the diagrams' blocks are redundant among the different pages. In fact, I don't understand why this is a Writer-specific feature whereas it could be a commonly used one in all OOo document types. Thx, Stephane

Another Use Case: Every presentation in my company must use a template: presentation title goes on bottom right of every slide. The first slide must contain title, department, author and date. I'm having some serious troubles since I can't create fields (like "title" or "department"). I guess using file properties as fields will help a lot and, IMHO, it's not hard to develop. I'm thinking something like: "Insert/Fields/File Properties/General/Last Modified", "Insert/Fields/File Properties/Description/Title", etc. My idea is a 1:1 relationship between file properties and the menu.
