Description sleipner 2002-06-26 11:38:18 UTC
OpenOffice assumes US-date format (mm/dd/yy) when importing data from SDV-formatted files,
even if the local language has other preferences.
Comment 1 daniel.rentz 2002-06-26 12:22:30 UTC
Please explain "SDV" and give a little example.

Comment 3 sleipner 2002-06-26 12:57:29 UTC
I think OpenOffice does not accept dates it thinks are not possible according to the
US-date format.

DATEVALUE("07/20/54") --> 19925
DATEVALUE("20.07.54") -->
Err:502

When importing the attached file, dates that could be possible in the US-
format are shown right aligned, dates not possible are shown left aligned.

I have tried it with an English OOo and german system settings
(Windows) and it works as expected. After setting TABs as delimiters,
the 3 columns in the front all contain date values.

Please check your settings in Tools|Options|Languages|LocaleSetting.
Is it German -or- is it Default and your system is German?

Just found another problem: Preview can't handle with TAB characters.
Comment 6 daniel.rentz 2002-07-31 09:03:18 UTC
I take it for the TAB chars problem.
Comment 7 daniel.rentz 2002-07-31 09:03:35 UTC
Problem with TAB characters fixed in next 643 build.

new/fixed is a unusual state...

I disagree. This issue has recently been fixed in the development and
goes back to QA for verification. AFAIK it's not possible to change
the owner under RESOLVED/FIXED conditions.
