Description boydfletcher 2006-01-30 03:54:02 UTC
In Powerpoint there are three very useful font manipulation:

Font-Increase button - when used against selected text, it will increase the
font size of all the text by one point. All text text is increase relative to
each other. For example if you have three lines of selected text at 20, 18, and
16 points if you press the Font-Increase button it increase all the lines of
selected text to 21, 19, and 17. This feature is very helpful when creating
hundreds of slides.

Font-Decrease button - same as Font-Increase but it decrease the font size by
one point.

Auto-Font-Resize - Powerpoint can auto-resize fonts in text area if the text
area is resized.

These are very powerful features when you have to create hundreds of slides at a
time. The current method of manually having to apply font sizes to each line or
group of selected text is very painful when doing dozens or hundreds of slides a
day.

this applies to all versions of OOo

rewording summary to better reflect request; point 3 is a duplicate to issue
43937

(Writer has point 1 and 2 (click on the arrow on the left side of the Format
toolbar and look at the Visible Buttons), but it doesn't work on selections with
different font sizes)

if Writer has buttons for Font-Increase/Font-Decrease then that's news to me
becuase I dont' see them , but I really think they are far more important in
Impress than in Writer. But in both cases the increase/decrease needs to be
respectful of the relative font sizes of the items in the selected area.

please ignore my comment about not finding the buttons in Writer - i found them.
However, I think they should be in the default list. however there lack of
ability to work on text of different sizes limits their use.
