Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 61776
Bullets in outline numbering disappear after reopening the file
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:18:01 UTC
Steps to reproduce the problem * Enter 4 paragraphs formatted with Heading styles 1 to 4 * With cursor on one of these lines: Format - Bullets and Numbering, choose for example the second template on the Outline tab (1. a) bullet bullet) Bullets do correctly appear for the third and fourth levels. * Save the file, reopen it: the bullets are lost.
MRU->OD: bullets as outline numbers are not supported in OO, but via Format.Numbering dialog it is possible to assign this in a way (see Tools.Outline dialog after that). This causes some inconsistent behaviour like described. Outline-Bukllets via Format.Numbering dialog must be suppressed in a way; maybe that they are only hard attributes after this.
If Writer is used to open a Word document which has bullets as outline numbers, these bullets will eventually be lost when saving in OpenDocument Text format. If the document is saved in Word or RTF format, the bullets are not lost.
adjust target milestone to 2.x
NB: bullets are kept if applied with a List style. However, the bullet is not displayed in the TOC.
according to release status meeting -> 3.x
setting keyword "numbering"
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
