Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 61890
FoxPro for DOS files could not be read as dBase
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:04:13 UTC
Hi all I am a starter with mail merge. These files are from FoxPro 2.5b for DOS and the connection wizard mentiones that "no tables are found" in the directory I had provided. Alternatively I used ODBC to connect to the same DBFs and I was successfully able to use them into the mail merge document. Please take required corrective actions.
Reassigned to MSC.
I have even tried this with VFP OLE DB but I get the same results.
Sorry my bad, the following. I had intended for another issue submitted by me. ------- Additional comments from bhavbhuti Sun Feb 19 23:22:15 -0800 2006 ------- I have even tried this with VFP OLE DB but I get the same results.
bhavbhuti, please attach sample file(s).
Created attachment 44042 [details] Empty FoxPro for DOS .dbf file which I cannot use directly
Hi! Thanks for your response. I have attached an empty dbf/fpt I use for the merge as a zipped file. Please fill in the data as you wish. In the Mail Merge Wizard, Step 3, Select Different Address List.., Add, File Type dBase (*.dbf), select this merge.dbf I have attached, it will show a connecting message, but then the OK button stays disabled. Hope it helps. Please let me know if you need any more details.
Confirming with OO2.2 on WinXP - attached files cannot be used as data source for mail mergewizard - in step 3 after selecting the file OK button remains disabled. Resaving the file as .dbf in Calc allows it to be used for mail merge.
