Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 62231
WW8: certain document will not be opened at all
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:26 UTC
See the attached test.doc. It is created in MSWord, not sure which version. It opens fine in my Word2000. When opening it in OOo on WinXP, nothing happens. When opening it in OOo on Linux (Debian and redhat), the OpenOffice Document Recovery dialog is displayed isntantly. I checked with Word documents from the same source that I could open without a problem in previous versions of OOo. Some of these now also do not open.
Created attachment 34255 [details] MSWord document that fails to open in OOo2.0.2RC1
Confirm crash with OOo 2.0.2 rc1 Linux RPMs on Fedora Core 4 x86-32.
MRU->FLR: can you please have a look, this worked fine in OO 2.0.1. OO will refuse to open the attached document at all. No crash, no loop, just nothing will happen when clicking the document in FileOpen dialog or dropping oit from Explorer into Application window. However, the file will be locked until OO is exited.
Set target to OO 2.0.3 at first.
Retargeted to OO 2.0.2.

flr: Its a problem with the newly integrated document variable import. Try to fix it for 2.0.2.
flr: fixed in CWS docprop.
flr: please test re-open issue and reassign to mru@openoffice.org
reassign to mru@openoffice.org
reset resolution to FIXED
Verified fix in CWS docprop.
Checked the fix in OO 2.0.2 build OOB680m3.
