Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 62287
A preview should be displayed in the Edit->Links... dialogue
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:38:30 UTC
Actually, when using ghe Edit>Links panel, a list of all the linked documents is displayed, with a short description of every of them. But very few information is displayed, so it's very difficult to guess what the linked document is among the list. For instance, in a multi-pages OOo Draw document of mine, a lot of linked photos (bitmaps) are set. When I modify a photo in The GIMP, I need to refresh this picture in my OOo Draw document. Instinctively, I select this picture in my document and then use the Edit>Links menu : in the panel, the first linked bitmap is selected, not the one I had selected. This one should be automatically selected when I invoke the Edit>Links panel. Another feature should be a small preview of the document without being forced to click the Modify button and then check/uncheck the Preview checkbox in the Picture Link select box.
according to http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/workflowcharts/ RFE_issues_by_QA.sxd I reassign this issue to requirements and set the status to New
OK ! No problem !

My I add a request? The list of pictures is in the order of insertion. It would be great to: - Have also the information WHERE the are located (i.e. page number) - Be able to sort by: - Page number occurring (and then position on page) - File name only - File location than by name - (By Element and type would be nice, but normally less useful)
