Description atomiczagnut 2006-02-21 02:31:15 UTC
I had just written a paper about one page in length. I dropped the file menu
from the toolbar and clicked "Save As..." Instead of getting the pop-up window
for "Save As..." I got a bug report pop-up window, telling me OOo had crashed
and this:

Writer had froze and I needed to force quit. On its next launch, writer
attempted to recover my data, but recovered only a blank page.

This might be related to <
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=171873 > where Fedora Core
4's OpenOffice.org crashes randomly while the official OOo works fine (even on
FC4). Can you reprodue the problem using using the
official OOo RPMs from < http://download.openoffice.org >?

Comment 2 michael.ruess 2006-02-21 07:41:36 UTC
Wasn't there a problem opening Fedora's FileOpen/FileSave dialog?
Comment 3 aziem 2006-02-21 14:33:14 UTC
mru: I reported Issue 58465, but in that case, I think it was because I upgraded
GNOME/GTK from 2.10 to 2.12 and used OOo without rebooting. Now my dialogs do
not crash. :)

Looks like a fedora problem.
Comment 5 caolanm 2006-03-07 11:45:27 UTC
Nothing to do with https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=171873

It's a bug in gnome-vfs, not a bug in OOo

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=155008
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=137809

It's apparently fixed in the current gnome-vfs

sort of "invalid" for openoffice.org itself, as it's not specific to OOo

I'll just set this as duplicate
