Description jaapbril 2006-03-13 17:15:13 UTC
I imported a OOo2.01 generated drawing into a OOo2.01 generated presentation.
Something in this combination takes (almost) forever.
Resizeing imported drawings happens eventually but effectively it is too slow to
use.
Imported spreadsheets is fast (not appreciable slower than opening the
spreadsheet itself)

Furthermore I lose control of my machine (mouse queue I think), and sometimes
the application crashes while (waiting for the queue to empty?).

Always happy to do more research (if pointed in some direction)

I am now trying to delete the drawing as the presentation is now unmailable
(>70MB. I opened it, went to the appropriate dia en pushed del; the machine has
now been busy (up to 90%) for more than 7 minutes processortime; it has not
refreshed the screen since.

The numbers seem to be wrong too; The presentation without the drawing = 4.6MB.
The drawing = 10.5MB; The combination was bigger than 70 MB.
I'm lost

Which Linux do you use? Is the office version an original one or is it delivered
by the distribution?
I have tested this on Suse with a current version and had no problems. How do
you insert the file? Do you use insert/File?
Plese try to track down the problematic area in the draw file and try to send
it. Thanks in advance.

I'm using Redhat (System.map-2.4.21-37.0.1.EL)
My OOo is a downloaded dutch version 2.0.1.

I put the drawing in by:
1 select layout (title + object)
2 double clicked object space
3 selected file (Ooo drawing)
4 waited a long time
It finally was visible; but
5 everything takes a very long time
 (resizing, saving etc)

I have tried to reproduce folowwing your description but in my case everything
works well (Suse 9.2, OOo2.0.1, 2.0.2). Maybe it is the draw file that makes
problems. Does this happen with all draw files? Can you attach the
trouble-making file? Thanks .
