Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 63241
RTF: Page count field with user defined parameter imported as two fields
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:39 UTC
The attached RTF file was generated by Microsoft Word. It is a four page document with "Page 1 of 4" (or 2, or 3, or 4) at the bottom of each page. In OOo Writer, it says "Page 1 of 43". I have other files which state 821 pages instead of 8, or 1221 pages instead of 12. In each case there appear to be extra digits printed in the page count.
Created attachment 34914 [details] Four page RTF which claims a page count of 43 in OOo.
The extra digit is not part of the page count fields. It's a userfield (in German: Benutzerfeld) which you can delete and then you have the right page count.
MRU->FLR: the page count filed in the footer of this RTF document is nested by a user defined parameter (to manipulate the count; shows 3 though there are 4 pages) and looks like "{=0 - 1 + {NUMPAGES} } in Word. Writer shouldn't import this as two fields; the user defined things should be ignored as long as Writer's fields are not capable of processing something like this.
