Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6398
User cannnot type in chinese symbol
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:00:01 UTC
Chinese symbol like ,.!@#$%^&*()_+ ... cannot be inputted. £¬¡££¡¡æ££¡ç£¥£¤¡ì¡Á£¨£©¡£«
Please give further details about the way you try to do so (i.e. WHAT IME are you using, is it a native chine Win98 and so on. Are you sure that the used font has these characters? Chinese characters can not be stored in the OO description, so you have to name them (i.e. Unicode position) or attach a screenshot. A verification in a nerwer build (OOo 1.02) would be nice too. Thank you. Reassigned to Ulf.
Sorry this bug description is insufficient. "Symbols can not be inputted" - what does this mean? *is the IME not capable? *what is displayed - nothing or junk? BTW: OOo1.0.0 is inapplicable for CJK usage, as it doesn't provide a wordbreak iterator. Thus you have to hard set the western font to a CJK font. Try using OOo643 or later! Workaround: use Insert->Special Character to input special characters. Is this what you have been searching for?
