Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 64381
phrase conditions in 'standard filter' dialogue
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:41:59 UTC
The 'condition' list in the 'data' ...> 'filter' ...> 'standard filter' dialog definitely needs enhancement. This I have felt as long as I have been using calc(last two years) Corresponding list in MSO,lists conditions in clearly intelligible phrases, whereas OO uses notations. And if the contents of a column are text and I want to search through the column for a word,it is not at all clear which notation one should pick up.In MSO, I just pick up 'contains' word. This list expects all users to be masters of RE. Often I find myself missing MSO whenever I need a word filter in a column.

This issue is related to issue 35579, but differs in that it is focussed on the usability whereas the other issue is about more options.I could not follow all the technical aspects discussed there. In Suse Linux as well as Ubuntu,I already have what I need. When I reported,I was referring to Fedora version of Linux. Parameshwara Bhat
