Description zeroconf 2006-05-07 08:01:24 UTC
When I try to find issue by searching it from here - - then I should choose a lot of
criterias, what I have no idea. I never get expected result by searching issues.

Why not could there be one field, where I can type search words and just hit the
button "Search" like in Google is? Currently I have to choose something but
there is no choice "all". When I choose "defect", then perhaps this thing, I try
to find, belongs not into this category...
You may do link 'advanced search' under search button, where I can choose, would
I search in all versions or exact version, etc. Sure - search
time is longer, when I choose 'all'.

Are really your servers so poor perfomance, that quering whole database will
slow down all your systems? I would like not to believe it...

There should be e.g. some separated searching areas on the web page. Each area
should have its own search button to run search.

Searching by username. If I know username, then I can search by it. Just like
jumping to issue if I know issue number.

Also searching by e-mail address would be helpful. If I don't know the name or
issue but I know only e-mail address of user. Then if user has been made his/her
e-mail address to public, then I can search by it.

Searching by free text string. E.g. I type "picture moving" (certainly without
quotes) and it will search all issues, where these words contains - in issue
description or in comments. This is the most wanted search opportunity. I could
perhaps also use wildcards, e.g. +picture +moving -small, etc. Then it finds
issues, where contains words with "+" sign and not containing words with "-" sign.

Here would be additional pull-down menus, where I can choose
version and also I can put there "All", which means that all versions of will be searched.
Also there could be choice "Operating system" and also I can put it "All"

Extended search area. Here I can search like current searching engine is -
choose by status, etc. criterias. But very helpful would be the choice "All". I
mean, if I choose e.g. status, then I can choose "All".
