Description jamil 2006-05-12 19:30:43 UTC
Ra+Ya-phalaa does not render properly in Linux. It renders fine in WinXP.

Sequence for Ra+Ya-phalaa is:
RA (U+09B0) + Zero Width Non Joiner (U+200C) + Halant (U+09CD) + Ya (U+09AF)

http://www.unicode.org/faq/indic.html#13A this link is backdated. I don't know
what UTC didn't solve the page. Still you can see wrong information on KhandaTa.
I don't know about other Indic languages. :(

Ra Yaphola should be written as Ra ZWJ Halanth Ya according to
http://www.unicode.org/review/pr-37.pdf
Comment 5 philipp.lohmann 2006-05-15 09:30:18 UTC
pl->hdu: please have a look
Comment 6 hdu@apache.org 2006-05-19 11:06:43 UTC
Please retry with a milestone that has integrated the CWS "icuupgrade" and
report the results here. This CWS will allow OOo's gsl layer to use a much more
recent version of the ICU layout engine. The milestones wíth icuupgrade should
be available in the next few weeks.
Comment 7 jamil 2006-09-12 15:51:42 UTC
Can I get a direct URL to download the build and test?
Comment 8 hdu@apache.org 2006-09-14 10:08:26 UTC
Let's check again when the CWS icuupgrade has been integrated:
http://eis.services.openoffice.org/EIS2/cws.ShowCWS?Path=SRC680%2Ficuupgrade
Comment 9 hdu@apache.org 2006-09-14 10:10:24 UTC
@ER: is a preview download of the CWS icuupgrade available?
Comment 10 ooo 2006-09-14 13:18:49 UTC
@hdu: no, only some internal SO interim build may be available, please contact
Karl for the status, I'll be on vacation within the next 4 hours ;)
Comment 11 jamil 2006-11-24 16:46:48 UTC
Today I checked with OpenOffice.org 2.1 RC1 (build OOE680_m3) on CentOS 4.4.
This bug still remains.
Comment 12 jamil 2006-11-24 16:50:01 UTC
Sorry it is not RC1, build OOE680_m3.
Comment 13 hdu@apache.org 2006-12-15 09:05:36 UTC
@itsjamil: I just saw that the latest development release SRC680_m197 has
finally been integrated the child workspace "icuupgrade" that we have been
waiting for. Please retest issues that might be affected with the new release.
Comment 14 jamil 2006-12-16 19:27:31 UTC
I will be waiting for Pavel's build. His latest available build is SRC680_m196. :)
Comment 15 jamil 2006-12-19 09:40:12 UTC
Just checked Pavel's build [ie. OOo_SRC680_m197 RPM version] on CentOS 4.4; Bug
remains.

Comment 17 hdu@apache.org 2007-01-15 12:51:11 UTC
I don't have Ubuntu here, but on a "normal" debian with the ttf-bangla-fonts
package version 0.4 installed the result from a recent OOo (SRC680_m199) looks
fine to me. Please check the screenshot in the comment above.
Comment 18 jamil 2007-01-17 15:00:32 UTC
Yes, that looks fine but not correct. Please check sample_winxp.png's first two
lines yellow marks - which is rendered correctly.
