Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 65403
Cannot save WebDAV UCB file on closed network connection
Last modified: 2006-11-21 07:35:33 UTC
When trying to save a file opened over a closed WebDAV network connection, OpenOffice.org comes back with a "General input/output error" dialog. There is no way to save your changes, locally or otherwise, until the network connection comes back up. Steps to reproduce: 1. Check Tools -> Options -> General -> Use OpenOffice.org dialogs. 2. File -> Open and type URL for test WebDAV repository (http://webdav.someserver.org). 3. Open file on WebDAV server and modify. 4. Disconnect network connection. 5. Click File -> Save As... Should give you error dialog. Desired behaviour would be to allow users to save their changes locally until such time as they can be uploaded over the network. OpenOffice.org should fail gracefully on a disabled network connection and provide the option of saving locally by default.
Framework issue.
rgladwell: Can you test this with the latest stable version? 2.0.4? I just tested it and it works perfectly. I can save all changes locally when my internet connection is down. Tested with Sun OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 build and my internal one.
Looks like its working for me now, thanks guys.
