I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and can not confirm that problem. @probe1: Still a problem with OOo 2.1? What LINUX do you use?
2007-01-05 re-tested with OOo 2.1 680m6 build 9095 with same result. This is SuSE Linux 9.3 with Kernel 2.6.11.4-21.15-default
I can't help here.
2007-01-12 same on SuSE 10.1 2.6.16.13-4-smp with OOo 680m6 9095 Will have access to a XPpro installation next week and cross check. Q: is there any configuration possible for (Linux) system clipboards? Having the problem with those special characters on one platform (only) indicates a mismatch in codepage used or an interface problem.
Confirmed on 2.2 en-US version with French language pack (official RPMs) under Ubuntu Dapper, locale is fr_FR.UTF-8 : When special characters are pasted as DDE link (either coming from Calc or Writer) into Writer (or Calc), they're not correctly displayed, here is a sample of the result : € -> € £ -> £ ¤ -> ¤ µ -> µ $ -> $ (OK) @ -> @ (OK) Also reported here : http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=39424 (under 2.0.2 but OS has not been given).
