Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 66293
Revision marks (aka tracked changes): add a preview of the final version
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:40:25 UTC
I use OpenOffice in profesional context, and I use revision all day long. It's really less convenient than the MS system: - to have the revision marks out of the text, in color bubbles, is far easier to read the text. - the possibility to accept and decline a revision on right clicking is a need - the possibility to switch between original and final version is useful I think that if you really want it to be adopted more generally in business use, you really need to improve Revision Marks...
Regarding "revision marks out of the text, in color bubbles" see issue 9661. Regarding "accept and decline a revision on right clicking" see issue 6191. But I agree, that a possibility to have a "switch" to toggle between the current and the final view could be a nice feature. Reassigned to requirements.
Ir seems that only "the possibility to switch between original and final version" is left here so I vote for that because it is useful. Curently with 2.1 if we turn off "Show Changes" we can see the final version but in order to see the original, we must use "Reject all changes".
BTW, here is an error: Changes to issue 66293 submitted Email sent to: requirements, lioran, issues@sw, cloph Go to ISSUE# 66293 Software error: Can't use an undefined value as an ARRAY reference at IzCrmBridge.pm line 412. For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster@openoffice.org), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.
OOo really needs to include the ability for the user to mark, review, accept and reject changes to text documents. In the current version of OOo I see no way to easily do what MS Office's with it's "tracked changes" has been doing since 2001 with their Office XP. Please, for collaborative work this is a great shortcoming! For a description of the feature "tracked changes": http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP052416341033.aspx?pid=CH063555981033 /lalf
If there is none defined at CC, does anyone reads this? Please confirm that this issue is still active, because there is no target milestone set. If it's not there should be another issue for "the possibility to switch between original and final version".
