Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 67095
Writer does not save alternative date formats
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:38:26 UTC
While editing a template, in the Insert, Fields, Other dialog I went into Date, then Additional formats... In this dialog, I can add a date format (e.g. MMMM YYYY). Exiting from the dialog seems to throw away the added format. The Save icon is greyed out, so Writer does not recognize the additional format as a change. Please add functionality to allow date formats to be added and removed (some of the formats are of no use to me).
Reassigned to ES.
Please give a step by step description of what you do, get and expect.
1. Open a template for editing 2. Insert, Fields, Other 3. Select "Date" on the Document tab 4. Scroll to Additional formats... and select. This opens the format dialog 5. Select a date format close to the format you want to create (e.g. 31 December 1999) 6. Edit in the Format code dialog (e.g. make it MMMM YYYY) 7. Click the check mark to add the format, click OK, then Close. Cancel the dialog 8 Save the template, then open a document based on it 9. Going to Insert, Fields, Other, the selecting "Date" does not show the format you just added. Please let me know if you need further clarification.
It is not possible to save user date/time format for the whole application (only document related). It is not possible to delete the predefined formats. Reassigned to Requirements
