Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 67407
spell checks on protected (locked) cells via context menu
Last modified: 2013-08-07 15:12:27 UTC
If a protected (locked) cell contains a spelling error, using the right mouse button to pop up the context menu will first display the error message box "locked cells cannot be changed" ("Gesperrte Zellen können nicht geändert werden", in my german version), which has to be confirmed with OK, before the context menu is shown (the context menu is correct, does not offer any actions related to correction of the spelling error). The behaviour for cells not containing any spelling errors, is ok. When a cell is read only, no spellchecking should be done when building the context menu. (The context menu is correct, no changing actions are shown.) See attachment for an example, use right mouse click on cell A1 to see what happens.

Hi, I think it's correct behaviour as OOo warns you that the action you want to perform is not possible and after confirming this warning it offers you the normal content of the context menu for protected cells. But let's Userexperience decide. Frank
