Revised the summary field to meet the phenomenon described below.

 Preparation
   1. Create an empty slide.
   2. Choose a layout "Title, Text."
   3. Enter a hyperlink whose text includes Asian characters.
   4. Copy the hyperlink.

   * You can use a text box instead of the layout "Title, Text."
This phenomenon seems to occur regardless of a type of text.

 From Impress to Impress
   5. Paste the copied heyperlink.
You would face a garbage text whose length was double or triple
      of its original one.

Tha facter seems to be related to what encoding is used on the platform.
E.g. Code page 932 on Windows: doubled
           LANG=ja (aka ja_JP.eucJP): doubled
           LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8: tripled

 From Impress to Calc
   6. Paste it on a cell.
You would face the same, bad appearance, but in the size of 10 point.

   7. Double click a cell to enter to edit mode.
   8. Paste it into the cell.
You would face the same, bad appearance, but in the size of 6 point.

 From Impress to Writer
   9. Paste the copied heyperlink.
   10. You would see the correct, plain Asian text.
It is no longer a hyperlink, just a plain text.

 From Writer to Impress
Not such a problem can be observed.
However, the size of text becomes 6 points regardless of the size of
   original text.

 From Calc to Impress
Not such a problem can be observed.

This phenomenon can be seen among Windows, linux, and Solaris.

Oops, correction:

 From Writer to **Calc**
Not such a problem can be observed.
However, the size of text becomes 6 points regardless of the size of
   original text.

 From Writer to Impress
Not such a problem can be observed.

Reproducible. Reassigned.
Comment 6 petr.dudacek 2007-02-06 15:36:01 UTC
What's the status of this issue?

It's reproducible also with European multibyte characters (checked on m202).

-> added "or European multibyte" to the summary

-> attaching a screenshot of European text after copy-pasting
