Happens to me as well with m180 on XP SP2. Problem exists with .jpg and .bpm
files. .gifs do not exhibit this problem. I am attaching test case.

nn->thb: See iBIS #105744#.
Comment 6 thb 2006-09-06 11:53:04 UTC
@nn: hm. as explained in the internal issue, that's a rather obscure (and hard
to fix) problem - any chance to work-around that in calc (notably, Draw/Impress
don't trigger this)?
Comment 7 niklas.nebel 2006-09-06 12:58:33 UTC
Calc uses a "non-square" MapMode to approximate the effect of drawing text on
the screen in pixel MapMode. I don't see a quick and easy way to change this. If
the problem is going to disappear one day with the new canvas, I think we can
just wait.
Comment 8 aziem 2007-05-11 17:16:07 UTC
Still reproducible on Windows XP OOo 2.2.
Comment 9 Martin Hollmichel 2007-11-09 16:53:02 UTC
change target from 2.x to 3.x according to

Comment 10 Marcus 2017-05-20 11:11:12 UTC
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
Comment 11 Czesław Wolański 2023-04-15 11:22:07 UTC
Tested on Windows with the file provided by the reporter i.e. "app.jpg".

Last version to experience the issue was OpenOffice.org 3.0.1

No "solid black stripe" artefact in any later release.
