Happens to me as well with m180 on XP SP2. Problem exists with .jpg and .bpm files. .gifs do not exhibit this problem. I am attaching test case.

Confirmed with 680m180 WinXP. Fine in Draw, problem in Calc.
Hi Niklas, please have a look at this one. Frank
nn->thb: See iBIS #105744#.
@nn: hm. as explained in the internal issue, that's a rather obscure (and hard to fix) problem - any chance to work-around that in calc (notably, Draw/Impress don't trigger this)?
Calc uses a "non-square" MapMode to approximate the effect of drawing text on the screen in pixel MapMode. I don't see a quick and easy way to change this. If the problem is going to disappear one day with the new canvas, I think we can just wait.
Still reproducible on Windows XP OOo 2.2.
change target from 2.x to 3.x according to http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
Tested on Windows with the file provided by the reporter i.e. "app.jpg". Last version to experience the issue was OpenOffice.org 3.0.1 No "solid black stripe" artefact in any later release.
