In excel, in cell A1 enter:
=MATCH("red";{"blue";"red";"green";"yellow";"mangenta"};0)
(This gives 2, because red is the second item in the list)

Save the file and open in OOo
Now, notice this does not work...

Array constants (the {...} parameter) aren't supported yet.
