Description phervas 2006-08-08 17:44:47 UTC
Hi guys and girls.

I think it would be great if in the paste special options we could get
two checkboxes, one for pasting the column widths, and another for pasting
the row heights.

The thing is I dont see right now how i could copy something with different
row/column heights/widths (lets say some form I have worked hard on formatting)
into another place on the sheet or somewhere else.

Thanks,
Patricio Hervas

+1

At the moment, you need to select the entire columns to keep the width, select
the entire rows to keep the height and select the entire sheet to keep both
width and height. So you can not select only some cells and keep the dimensions.
This would be nice improvement in my opinion.

It would also be nice to have this function to write macros.

PS : this should be tagged as an enhancement, not as a feature.

So it's one for the requirements team.

I can foresee that if there are other cells with other heights set in the same
row, this can cause a problem. For example if the height of cell A1 is set as 1"
and A2 is set as 1/2". If I copy A2 and paste it into B1, should row 1 be 1" or
1/2". In this case, there should be a dialog box to ask for the user decision.
In cases where there is no custom set height (or row), the new height copied
from source cell should be honored.

Can the target milestone be set to 3.0?
