Description yozhhh 2006-08-10 15:47:23 UTC
When saving the text with tabstop-formatting as RTF-file the tabstops in the
lines after line 2 become lost. The tabstops in the first line are saved only.
The same bevaviour under Linux as under Windows.

MRU->HBRINKM: open attached document and export to RTF, reload -> the tab in the
second paragraph is lost.
Comment 3 tmjura 2006-09-13 17:55:45 UTC
Hmm,

I checked that example.odt.
Confirmed as repeatable.

However.
I have more complex example related to tabstops.

Open the file "_MALLI_YRITYS.RTF".
I have screenshot made "tabulators_in_OO.PNG" where I have describe the unwanted
behaviour.
There are those three tabstops, and for some reason OO puts those three
tabulators "over" that one tabstop.

The file "_MALLI_YRITYS.RTF" was seen in right format in Word 2002.
The text in the file "_MALLI_YRITYS.RTF" is based on standard of Finnish
Standards Association SFS and there is specificly definitions how text should be
visible, saved and printed.

Other RTF-problems I have gone through in issues 35217, 39540, 46917, 49087,
53816, 55911 and 60831.

To be precise what I used
- WIN XP Professional version 2002 SP 2 + updates
- OpenOffice 2.0.3 OOC680_m7 Build 1 (Tue Jun 29 16;19;13 CEDT 2006) (Finnish
version)
- OpenOffice Finnish proofreader: oo2-soikko-Windows-1.1.1.exe
- Word 2002 (10.6802.6735) SP 3 (English version)

Yes, I can confirm it. MS Word 2000 SP3 opens the file "_MALLI_YRITYS.RTF"
properly, with all saved tabstops.
When opening the same file with OpenOffice 2.0.3: the tabstops in the lines 17
(partially), 19, 20, 21 (partially), 22, 23, 24 (partially) and so on and are lost.
The tabstops are lost in this case while opening the rtf-file, not while
converting the document to rtf!
The lines, where the tabstops are lost, contain the non-standard paragraph
format: horizontal text indents "before text" and "first line". Hopefully it
will help you.
Comment 6 tmjura 2006-09-16 16:32:14 UTC
Yes, I see.

The tabstops are really lost from some lines when opened in OpenOffice 2.0.3.
And tabstops ARE visible when opened in Word 2002.

I don´t know in which program the original file "_MALLI_YRITYS.RTF" is made.
It was copied from one CD containing these (Finnish) model legal documents,
print year is 1999.
But then the RTF-format used must be from year 1999.
I don´t know about the versions of the RTF standard.

Anyway.
It seems to be some kind of problem in IMPORTING of tabstops from RTF files.
Your (yozhhh) problem is with EXPORTING tabstops to RTF-file from OO.

Hmm...
I have some RTF-files from year 1998 or before.
I could test importing those older files to OO 2.0.3 and check how tabstops are
handled then.
Comment 7 yozhhh 2006-10-14 11:26:28 UTC
OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 does not have this bug!
Comment 8 Mathias_Bauer 2006-10-19 10:24:59 UTC
RTF bugs are planned to become fixed with our new filter -> target 3.0
Comment 9 Mathias_Bauer 2008-04-25 17:20:23 UTC
The docx import filter consumed most of our resources in the "interop" area. Due
to that we must retarget this issue. -> 3.x
Comment 10 Miklos Vajna 2010-07-30 13:38:42 UTC
I cannot reproduce this issue, as of ooo320-m19.
